The SMTS team is a network of experienced medical specialists and accredited physicians. Please note, appointments are by referral only. We accept medical referrals from GPs, medical specialists, and nurse practitioners. We also accept non-doctor referrals from legal firms and private industry to provide medico legal reports, medical assessments and reports for employers and insurers.

Rebates
Medicare
Medicare benefits are available for certain services provided by eligible Allied Health professionals to people with chronic conditions and complex care needs who are being managed by a GP or medical practitioner using certain Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Medicare items or are enrolled in a Health Care Home. The allied health services must be recommended in the patient’s plan as part of the management of their chronic condition.
At Specialist Medical & Therapy Solutions our Allied Health team provide services that can receive a rebate of $56.00 per appointment from Medicare under the CDM plan, compiled by GPs for chronic disease management.
Each patient is allowed maximum 5 appointments per calendar year with any combination of Allied Health professionals – this is to be discussed with their GP at the time of referral. Please consider mentioning an Allied Health referral (via CDM) in your letters if you feel this is appropriate for your patient.
Private health
Private health plans cover varying proportions of fees for Allied Health appointments.
DVA
DVA covers AH consults and services. Dr Kathleen Casey our Clinical and Health Psychologist is an accredited DVA Health Provider
NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing support for people living with disability. Dr Kathleen Casey our Clinical and Health Psychologistis is a registered NDIS Health Provider. Please note the NDIS will fund Allied health and other therapy needed because of a person’s disability, including occupational therapy, speech therapy or physiotherapy.
